Gas Gauge Jumped to Zero
by MalB on 10/20/2025 1:04:20 PM
Ran out of gas TWICE while driving from NH to FL recently. First time, the gas gauge suddenly read 16 miles left in gas when I noticed and then 16 went down to 0 in a minute. Fortunately, we were just leaving a Travel Center that had gas stations! The next time while on I-95, just entering NC, I noticed the gas gauge suddenly read 65 miles left in gas and then the gauge proceeded to go to 64, 63, etc. I drove off at the next exit and into a parking area of a small bulding that held people entering/exiting just as the gauge reached zero! A person there offered to take my husband to a gas station while I tried unsuccessfully to reach AAA. Fortunately, that person returned with the gas and even put it in the gas tank. We were lucky! Our dealership had not heard of this problem, but there have been similiar reviews by others.
